Artist statement

In my art practice as a ceramicist I work with sculptures and installations, mostly in porcelain combined with other materials. My porcelain sculptures often deal with political, social or gender issues, and are often inspired by objects that may carry a story, represented through their function, or expression. I wish to explore our cultural and material history through various artistic expressions. The porcelain's historical and visual references are essential to the expression in my works. My artworks have been exhibited at Norwegian and international museums and galleries, and are represented in several art collections and museums in Norway and internationally.
